The Paw Wash Grooming Release & Policy AgreementAll clients are required to read and sign this agreement prior to any grooming services. By signing below, I confirm that I am the legal owner or authorized caregiver of the pet(s) listed and agree to the following terms and conditions.
Entrustment of CareI hereby entrust my pet(s) to The Paw Wash Pet Grooming Salon for grooming services. I understand that grooming involves handling, restraint, and the use of professional equipment, and I authorize The Paw Wash to perform grooming services in a manner deemed safe and appropriate for my pet(s).
Vaccination RequirementsFor the safety of all pets and staff, current vaccination records are required:
Handling, Restraints & Grooming RisksI understand that animals may move unexpectedly during grooming. If necessary for the safety of my pet(s) and the groomer, humane restraints such as muzzles, elastic collars, slings, or straps may be used.
I acknowledge that minor injuries (including nicks, scratches, or quicked nails) may occur and agree that The Paw Wash is not responsible for injuries resulting from my pet’s behavior or inability to remain still. I assume all responsibility, financial and otherwise, for my pet’s behavior and health.
Health Disclosure & Medical ConditionsI agree to disclose all known allergies, sensitivities, behavioral concerns, and pre-existing medical conditions prior to grooming. I understand that grooming may expose or aggravate underlying health issues that were previously unknown.
The Paw Wash is not responsible for illness, injury, or accidental death related to pre-existing health conditions.
Emergency Veterinary Care AuthorizationIf urgent veterinary care is deemed necessary due to a pre-existing or undisclosed condition, I authorize The Paw Wash to seek treatment at my veterinarian or, if unavailable, a veterinarian of their choice. All veterinary costs for conditions not caused by grooming are my responsibility.
Matting, Coat Condition & De-Matting PolicyI understand that severely matted coats are painful and dangerous to my pet’s health. Time and cost associated with de-matting are unpredictable.
Fleas & ParasitesIf fleas are found, my pet will be treated with flea shampoo for salon sanitation at my expense. A minimum $15 flea treatment fee applies, with additional charges possible. No flea treatment is guaranteed to be 100% effective, and The Paw Wash is not responsible for reinfestation.
Behavior & Aggression DisclosureI confirm that I have disclosed any history of biting or aggressive behavior. I accept full responsibility for any injury, damage, or harm caused by my pet to people, animals, or property.
The Paw Wash reserves the right to refuse or discontinue grooming services for any pet deemed unsafe, excessively stressed, or ill.
Treat AuthorizationI authorize The Paw Wash to offer my pet treats, peanut butter, soft chews, or bones unless I notify them otherwise in writing.
Appointments, Cancellations & No-ShowsCourtesy reminders are sent up to 48 hours prior to appointments. A valid phone number or email is required.
Pickup, Late Fees & AbandonmentTimely pickup is required. A $10 fee per 15 minutes will be charged after 30 minutes past the notified pickup time. This fee is a deterrent, as The Paw Wash is not a licensed pet-sitting facility.
Pets not picked up within 24 hours without communication may be considered abandoned and handled in accordance with Connecticut law. All accrued fees remain the owner’s responsibility. Bank transfer payments must be made the same day as the groom; late payment fees may apply.
PuppiesPuppy grooms are kept simple and positive. First haircuts are not guaranteed. Tearless shampoo is used for safety.
Senior, Frail & Very Large DogsExtra care is taken with senior, frail, or very large pets; however, grooming is performed at the owner’s risk. Services may be modified or stopped if stress or health concerns arise. Please disclose all health conditions in advance. Grooming very large dogs is not standard and must be discussed at booking.
Pricing & PaymentAll prices listed are starting prices and may change based on size, temperament, coat length, and coat condition. Any pricing adjustment will be communicated. Payment is due in full at pickup unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Deposits are non-refundable and applied toward services. Please be advised if you are paying with a credit or debit card there is a merchant services fee of 3.99%
Refund PolicyAll services are non-refundable. If you are unhappy with your pet’s haircut for any reason, concerns must be communicated at pickup so they may be noted for future visits. Refunds are not issued under any circumstances.
Photo & Media ReleaseI grant The Paw Wash permission to photograph or video my pet(s) for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes unless otherwise stated in writing.
Liability ReleaseI release The Paw Wash LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising from grooming services or related products, including veterinary expenses, unless caused by gross negligence.
